Stay Home with Ayurveda

Here are a routine for supporting your immune system while self isolating during the COVID-19 viral spread.  This advice is from an Ayurvedic point of view to help strengthen the immune system.

The Wake Up

  • 200 ml Hot/Warm Water on empty stomach.

  • Yoga routine or Pranayama/Breathing Exercise

  • Shower

  • Administer 2 drops of Anu Nasya Oil or Shadbindu Oil in each nostril. Once administered, gently breathe in so that the oil gets absorbed via the nasal mucosa and passages.

  • Mix 1/4th tspn Triphala Powder or ½ Triphala capsule with warm water and gargle.

  • Wait 15 mins and drink a cup of hot Pure Tulsi Tea.  Tulsi has very good respiratory system strengthening properties, it also helps to protect the lungs against any illnesses.  This tea is also very good on a daily basis.

Morning Cup

Breakfast

  • Eat warm food to help improve circulation and remove illness.  Note: Avoid cold dairy and dairy products. Avoid excess yoghurt, cold milk, cheese, cream.Also avoid cold meat, fish, or cold eggs.

  • Take 1 Neem Capsule

  • Take 1 Turmeric Capsule

  • Take 2 Tulsi Capsules

  • Drink a cup of Ginger Lemon Zest Tea after meals helps to strengthen the Agni and helps remove Ama from the body

The Morning Break (11am)

  • Stretch, go for a short walk or Pranayama/Breathing Exercise 

  • Chyawanprash 1 teaspoon in a mug of hot water.
